Where the time goes...

First Post of the New Year!
Oh.. where does the time go. I really need to get better at either blogging to keep family up to date, or at the least writing in the boys journal so they can look back and remember.
At the very beginning of my decision to become a mom I start writing in a journal with the purpose of it being passed on to my child. It starts at the many years of planning, months of trying and then the boys. It fun to look back and see my thought process and what I, at that moment, thought was important to pass on to my children. When I found out I was having twins, on that first day of writing to the two of them I noted that they had to figure out how they were going to share the journal, because I was NOT writing two seperate ones :-) Anywho... the moral of this rant is that I really need to get focused on noting the important and fun things.
Christmas was GREAT! This years the boys really looked forward to it and I personally did think they were going to "explode" if it did not get here! We got to see Santa 4 times. From about the 7th of December until Christmas day every morning Joseph woke up and asked if it was Christmas Day!
On Christmas Eve, grandpa got out of work early and we headed to the movies. We watched Disney's Bolt.. very cute! That entire day both boys kept reminding Grandpa and I that it was Christmas Eve... again and again and again... We ended the evening with Christmas Eve service at church. Can anyone tell me why two boys can sit still through a 2 hour movie, but could not even make it 20 mins in church?? It's a mystery!
Now.. this really being my first Christmas with little ones that understood the Santa thing I was not sure what to expect. As kids my siblings and I were up and ready to go at 3am... I was really praying for NO 3am :-) Nevin joined me in bed around 6am, just to sneak in and sleep. Around 7:30pm Joseph joined Nevin and I. At that point I was ready to wake up.. I asked the boys.. "Has Santa been here?" While Nevin wanted to know, he did not want to go check so he sent Joseph. Joseph jumped out of bed.. went and checked the Living Room and reported back. "Nope.. Santa has not been here yet." (Now.. mind you, there was NO WAY you could have missed his arrival of presents.) Joseph got back into bed and snuggled in. After about a minute I asked.. "Are you sure? We better go check again, I will go with you. The sun is up, if he has not been here he is not coming." With that we all jumped out of bed... and I am sure you have experienced what came next :-) Christmas was GREAT! It was nice seeing them understand Santa and also the true meaning of Christmas.. and maybe next year Joseph will better understand that Christmas only comes once a year!
New Years Eve was a quite evening of relaxing. While I personally doubted my desire to stay up until midnight, I decided to just go with the flow. No bedtimes as long as there was no fighting and whining. Joseph made it until 10:30pm before he was asking to be put to bed. Nevin my night owl watched the ball drop and crashed with no complaints at 12:15am. It was a nice NEW YEAR!!
The New Year has again brought some changes to the Digney house. Back in July I had accepted a job at Pacer in Dublin. It was a GREAT opportunity, but I was definitely feeling the stresses of being a single mom. While my unemployment of almost 2 years I can't remember a time I had a sick child. In my 5 months at Pacer we went through 3 rounds of pink eye, (4 if you include me), then Hand, Foot and Mouth disease, then 1 puking at school and 1 diarrhea at school. Each time meant me leaving work and calling in... not good. So I decided to leave Pacer and trying working from home as a Pacer Agent. I essentially do the same thing, but with commission only. Time will tell if it was the right decision, but I won't know unless I try. However, already in one week while the financial stress is there, the mom stress is gone. This feels right and in the long run I pray is the right decision for Me, Nevin and Joseph!!
Well.. I think that will end my updates for the end of 2008 and beginning of 2009.

Wiping butts....
And when I go into the bathroom to discover that Joseph stood still and allowed Nevin to wipe him with the CLOROX WIPES!! Oh! My!
Moral of the story.... you wipe yourself or you call for Mommy!!

December 7th already!
Today was the Christmas parade and BOY WAS IT COLD!!! And what made it even colder was that there was a TON of candy being thrown to the kids.. and who can pick up candy with gloves on?? And in Joseph's case.. with Grandpa's gloves on.
We have seen Santa three times now.... and each time Nevin has asked Santa for the Rhino Rhino game, which if you recall is the game we are giving Jesus for his birthday. And Joseph asks for a stuffed dinosaur bird that he saw at COSI (Children's Science Museum). So... today to be clear I asked the boys AGAIN what they have been telling Santa, because I really want to get it right... well Joseph says.. Tuck and Ming Ming (Wonder Pets)... HELLOO!!! I know for a FACT that Tuck and Ming Ming has never ever ever been brought up to Santa, now what do I do??? I am praying that the 4th time is the charm.. we are going to go see Santa at the Library tomorrow night. I will listen very closely and see what we tell the last and final Santa... please!
It's looks like the boys birthday cruise is going to happen. I decided a couple of months back that I wanted to bring the boys on a short cruise for their 4th birthday instead of a big party. Well, we got it booked! We are going February 9th. Yes, I know their birthday is not until the 17th of March.. but that is the PEAK of Spring Break season, so they better get used to birthday vacation happening in February. Any who.. we are leaving out of Miami on a 4 night cruise. We got to Key West and Cozumel. Right now planned to go is my friend Wendy, her mom and her two kids Kennedy and Kayden, My sister, her husband and their little girl Shannon. My cousins Wendy and Jennifer. Anyone else want to join come along. Total with tax, port charges, gas..etc.. it's under $250 a person. It's the Carnival Imagination, check it out! Water slide on board!!
And yes I know it's a bit of a splurge for a 4th birthday, but it's so much more than that. It's been almost two years since I have been on vacation, and from traveling as much as I did and taking for granted the ability to go places.. we have planned and saved and BEYOND excited. Even though Nevin tells me he does not like airplanes and does not like big boats. Yes, the boy who has already flown more time than many adults I know.
For the first time in 2 years I feel good about something and the ability to look forward without worry.... OK.. maybe a little worry, I am a worrier you know..

Happy Thanksgiving
This Thanksgiving Frank and Family joined the Ohio Digney's. We had a very nice time.. it was short but we all enjoyed a nice and relaxing day together.
We are now getting ready to get into the swing of Christmas. Decorating will start tomorrow, and then the Holiday fun will start... Christmas Parade, Christmas walk, Jingle Bell race/walk, cookie exchange, Holiday Lights at the Zoo, Cookie Decorating at Grant's... and anymore fun we can find.
Today I got up early to hit Wal-Mart....it really wasn't that bad, then a stop at K-mart. Which our Marysville K-mart just... well I just have to laugh. I was talking to a person in line behind me.. I was saying how I could understand why they did not have all their registers open, because you know how Black Friday just snuck up on all of us this year! As of right now, I think I can pretty much say, I am done with shopping. I am happy with the variety of things the boys are getting, I think they will be very happy Christmas morning. After K-mart, I ran through McDonald's to bring breakfast home to the guys before heading to work... I got home at 7:30 and EVERYONE was still sleeping!! Why doesn't everyone still sleep when I can and want to sleep in? So, I left the McDonald's and heading to work.
Pacer was closed Thanksgiving and the day after, and then closed again Christmas Eve and Christmas Day... opened the day after Christmas (Friday)... Well... they were looking for volunteers to work the day after Thanksgiving and if you worked that day you can have the day after Christmas off!! Waaaa Hoooo!!! 5 days off at Christmas!! It was SO worth working the day after Thanksgiving.
Saturday and today we did much of nothing. We did get our Christmas decorations out and the Christmas tree is up. This year is fun, the boys understand that Santa is coming, but they don't understand why he has not come yet, they get excited each time they walk into the family room and see the Christmas light all lit up on the tree. It's going to be a GREAT Christmas.
Hope you all enjoyed the holiday and are ready all the fun yet to come.

Hand... Foot... Mouth, Oh My!!
The other day on our way to school the boys and I were talking about Hunter's (neighbor) upcoming 4th birthday party. They were excited about getting him a present and going to his party. They are getting to the age where they understand giving gifts to their friends, and helping the friend celebrate their birthday! So, I took the opportunity to tell them how exciting Jesus' birthday is going to be and how Jesus loves them so much that he wants THEM to have presents.. just for them. That was EVEN cooler!! So, needless to say we are all very excited for Christmas.
We shifted from swimming lessons to gymnastics, and boy do they LOVE IT! They get upset because we only go one night a week. In the 45mins they are in class they start at floor exercise, then over to the vault, then the balance beam, then the uneven bars.. well the one bar, they get to hang on it and climb like monkeys. After that they all go over any lay on a purple mat.. the coaches have all the kids lay on it deflated and then they turn on the air and it inflates into a big jumpy!! Big Big Fun!!
Today Nevin and I stayed home from school. He has the Coxsackievirus, better known at Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease. I think they both started with symptoms last Wednesday. Both had been having restless nights and I could tell it hurt them to swallow. One night I had them both up crying, inconsolable.. between Grandpa and I were going back and forth trading boys to see who had the magic touch... even with that being said, I can tell you that since they were born that was only the 2nd time I have had them both so upset.
So, back to the virus.. they had no fevers just the restless nights and the trouble swallowing.. this past Friday night, into Saturday Joseph slept all night without waking, but Nevin did not. I got a note that Strep was going around at both DayCare and Preschool.. so I decided to bring Nevin by Children's Close to Home, (kids urgent care). While waiting for the strep results, I noticed a few sores on his hands. The doctor came in and said.. negative for strep, but looked at his hands and asked to look at his feet. She pulled his sock off and he had many, many on his feet... :-(. Nothing we can do except help the pain in his mouth and wait for the sores to dry up. Not all kids get the sores, so I am praying the Nevin is the tail end of two brothers getting it, not the start of two brothers getting it. And while it's nice to have a break and to hang out with just one of my guys.. I need to be at work and really want everything to be healed.
Now on to some fun stuff. My Joker Joe loves to dance. We will be driving in the car and he will yell, dance Mommy, dance Nevin, dance Grandpa... and we all have to move around in our seats dancing.. and if we don't he will nicely keep asking. So, Saturday I made his first dancing video.. He just CRACKS me up..
This next video is of Nevin eating some sour candy. Mommy tried to tell him his face was going to pucker up but my boy.. the boy that can make himself sick by thinking it wanted to try it!
And last but never least... I can't neglect the fact that someone else in our family knows how to spell their name! Great job Nevin Michael Digney, the 4th!... I know I know.. the 4th where did that come from? I am not sure, but anytime you ask him his name he will respond.. Nevin Michael Digney the 4th!
Good day to all!! And, YES!! That was my cat on the kitchen counter in the candy video. While, I typically don't allow her to be on the counter.. my Ali girl is not feeling well. She is eating and eating, but just staying very frail. We put her food up there to keep it away from the dogs.

Happy Halloween
Tonight was Trick-or-Treating... and the boys had such a good time. They really enjoyed it this year running house to house, we made it through out entire neighborhood, which is almost 250 house. By the time we got back to our house they both just pretty much colapsed into Grandpa's lap. And for the record!! Nevin had only 1 sucker.. and Joseph has 1 piece of chewy gum. He really love chewing gum right now.. and he is really good at it.
Before Trick-or-Treating tonight we were having dinner and Nevin did the funnest thing. As I said before Joseph can spell his name, but when asked Nevin says.. "No, you can do it". Well at dinner we were being silly and I told the boys they can change their names.. and Nevin was now Joseph and Joseph was now Nevin. In the next moment.. Nevin giggled and said.. "I am Joseph.. J-O-S-E-P-H" Grandpa and I just sat there with our mouths hang opening, not believeing what we just heard... Too Funny! Also.. telling Nevin that his name has two N's in it, really bothers him! He does not want two N's.
Well.. that is it for now! Below is a video of Joseph spelling his name!
